Inking function is still not available after installing the latest driver.

You can handwrite and annotate using the Inking function in Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 running on Windows Vista and Windows 7 Home Premium or later edition.  To handwrite and annotate on Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Onenote, kindly follow the steps below.

1. Enable Tablet PC Input Service.

Start > Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services > search for Tablet PC Input Service, right-click then select Properties > on the Startup Type drop down menu, select Automatic  > Apply then OK > Click Start to enable Service Status.

2. Enable Wacom Consumer Service.

Start > Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services > search for Wacom Consumer Service, right-click then select Properties > on the Startup Type drop down menu, select Automatic > Apply then OK > Click Start to enable Service Status.

Reboot your PC after following the steps above.

3. Open any Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Onenote > click Review Tab > Start Inking.

If Inking is still not available, we advise that you uninstall your current driver before you download and install a different driver version for your tablet. Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Uninstall your current driver.

Disconnect the tablet from the PC.

Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > highlight Wacom and click Uninstall.

We suggest that you restart your PC after uninstalling the Wacom tablet driver.

2. Download and install the latest driver for your tablet from the URL link below:

Notes for installing tablet drivers:

  • Temporarily disable your Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Phishing filter, and Firewall before running the driver installer and while using the tablet.
  • Temporarily disconnect Network connections and other USB devices connected to the PC.
  • Connect the tablet to a powered USB port, preferably directly to the motherboard.
  • Make sure that you are logged in as the Computer Administrator.
  • Try connecting the tablet to a different USB port or different PC, if necessary.
  • Clean the PC's RAM to free disk space and make processing faster.
  • Download and install latest updates for your Operating System.

We recommend that you reboot your PC then reconnect the tablet.

3. Make sure that the driver is set to Pen Mode.

Click Start > All Programs > Wacom > Wacom Preferences > click Pen tab > under Tracking, select Pen mode.
